Ferry to Lombok : Padang Bai (Bali) - Lembar (Lombok)

We rent a car for 10 days in Bali (avanza, Rp.170k/day). We plan to drive from Bali to Lombok. We'll cross the Lombok's stait from Bali (Padang Bai harbour) to Lombok (Lembar harbour). If you use the public transport, you can take the bus from Denpasar/Kuta/Sanur or you can take private travel bus operated by tour agency (it costs around 80-100k). For another option, you can try the bus from Perama Travel (www.peramatour.com), costs Rp.60k. It took about 45mins-1,5 hour to go to the Padang Bai harbour from Denpasar/Kuta/Sanur.

The ferry will departs from Bali (Padang Bai harbour) at 6.00 am, 7.00, am 9.00, am 10.30. am every day. You can also charter boat to Senggigi beach, Gili islands to East Nusa Tenggara (Flores, komodo island, Labuhan Bajo, Sumbawa, etc) from Padang Bai.

We have to pay for Rp.572k (for the car and all people inside the car, Group IV PNP). Here's the ferry fares (Dec 2008).

It takes 3-4 hours ferry ride from Bali (Padang Bai harbour) to Lombok (Lembar harbour). When you arrive in Lembar, there are public buses that can take you to the city (Mataram city) or to Senggigi. I didn't know about this public transportation since we drive our car from Lembar to Senggigi.
